My journey into working with energies & frequencies
My story
My path into the world of energy and frequencies took a few detours - mostly because I once resisted what I considered “woo woo.”
When my mum first told me about her Reiki Level 1 experience, I was skeptical. I had never heard of Reiki, so I googled chakras and healing energies, and honestly worried she had joined a cult. Even when a friend explained it was an ancient Japanese healing practice, my doubt remained. I even joked when my mum said she could send distant Reiki, asking whether it would arrive via UPS or DHL. So yes - I truly understand skepticism. I was exactly the same.
Until 2007.
That year, I was in a severe car accident on an icy winter road. Trying to stop and help another crashed car, my own vehicle slid off the road and was destroyed. Just before impact, it felt as if something pushed my head down - seconds later, a massive branch pierced through the car exactly where my head had been. I escaped with only minor injuries.
A man who witnessed the crash stopped immediately, held me, and made me feel safe. Years later, after studying trauma physiology, I understood why this moment of human connection likely prevented lasting trauma.
Weeks later, the same friend convinced me to receive a Reiki session. That session became the turning point - the doorway into Reiki, mediumship, and eventually trauma-informed breathwork and somatic alignment.
HOW I GOT INTO
Reiki
In December 2007, after a serious car accident, a close friend offered me a Reiki session. Near the end, I clearly felt a sensation moving from her hands into the soles of my feet. That moment sparked my curiosity, and in January 2008 I began Reiki Level 1.
During the following 21 days of practice, I had several experiences that felt beautiful yet unfamiliar. Lacking the context to understand them, I set Reiki aside for nearly ten years.
What I didn’t know then was that Reiki can open intuitive and spiritual capacities - abilities I hadn’t realized I possessed. It took three different teachers before I finally found someone who could clearly explain what I had been experiencing. Since then, I always encourage people to choose a teacher who offers ongoing support beyond the attunement process.
Ten years later, with a deeper understanding of energy work and a sincere desire to support others, I completed Reiki Level 2 and learned distant Reiki. The first person I worked with was a friend experiencing heartbreak. During the session, I felt her emotions and physical sensations clearly, and something shifted - she moved from intense release into grounding and calm. A few months later, I completed my Reiki Master training, focusing on my own growth to better guide others.
Over time, I realized my work extends beyond Reiki alone. I also facilitate transformational energy work, supporting people in accessing and processing emotional layers that may be difficult to reach consciously.
HOW I GOT INTO
Mediumship
In 2021, I found out about an academy in the Netherlands where people were trained to become a medium. Curious, I decided to try it myself. While trying to tune into the energy of my friend’s mother who had passed away in our teens, I clearly heard a voice in my head saying “the father,” who had also died. Unsure whether this was real or imagination, I asked for validation.
What followed was astonishing. I received very specific information that unmistakably confirmed it was him. One word that came through was “bee.” I dismissed it at first, assuming I was making it up. But near the end, “bee” came through again - this time so loudly that I laughed and said, “Okay, I get it!”
When I later told my friend about this experience, the word ‘bee’ didn’t ring a bell at first - but then she remembered:
“She wouldn´t go anywhere without this pillow.”
HOW I GOT INTO
Trauma informed Breathwork & Somatic Alignment
I discovered breathwork - specifically Owaken Breathwork based in Los Angeles - almost by accident, or perhaps by divine timing. While scrolling Instagram one day, I came across Hella Weston, one of Owaken’s founders, and began watching videos from their live events. I couldn’t understand how people were experiencing such deep emotional releases simply through breathing. After all, we breathe all the time - or so I thought.
Curious, I booked a flight to L.A. to experience it firsthand. The session completely changed my perspective. I was amazed by how much healing and self-awareness can be unlocked through conscious connected breathing in such a short time. That experience led me to enroll in Owaken’s nearly year-long, very intense, high level trauma-informed breathwork facilitator training.
Alongside activation and restorative breathwork, I searched for a complementary modality and found Santi from Somatic Alignment and S.E.A. - a training whose depth, professionalism, and care continue to inspire me.
Through both practices, I’ve gained a profound understanding of the body–mind connection: how energy moves through us and how the nervous system shapes not only our daily experiences, but our entire healing journey
Today, this is the foundation of my work:
Supporting people in accessing the deeper root of what is asking for healing, clarity, and integration.
